Drawing its name from the Sanskrit-derived word for "peace" and "zoe", the Greek word for "life", Amanzoe is situated on a hilltop close to the quaint town of Porto Heli in the Peloponnese. The resort offers almost 360º panoramic sea views as well as a private Beach Club in a picturesque bay which is approx. 5 mins drive down a traditional rural track.

The hotel comprises 38 guest pavilions arranged on different levels to maximise privacy, each free-standing pavilion is accessed through a stone-wall courtyard that leads to spacious living areas. The living areas open up onto the terrace, shaded by a pergola with each Pool Pavilion having a pool.

The front of house facilities are sat atop an impressive stone built acropolis type structure which houses the main restaurant, bar, library, retail area and the porte cochere.

The main and kids pool facilities are flanked by the pool restaurant which is surrounded by undulating olive groves and overlooking the Aegean Sea.

Our Commercial Specialist was part of the Development team that carried out full project and commercial services from inception to completion.  The role was to advise on feasibilities, financial modelling / reporting, whilst managing a separately contracted local Engineers

Procurement

The project was tendered to six local contractors with a schedule of quantities and a fixed price lump sum agreed.  The procurement of FF&E and OS&E was carried out internal by our Commercial Specialist.

Given the location of Greece in Southern Europe, the expanse of options was such that procurement could be sourced from all over Europe together with various operator requirements from Asia / Indonesia.

The Procurement responsibility was such that a minimum of three quotes were to be sought to gauge completion and to obtain the required approvals to prevent single sourcing and the risk of inflated pricing.
